Schwann cells are neural crest derivatives that ensheathe and myelinate axons of peripheral nerves. They wrap individually around the shaft of peripheral axons, forming myelin sheath along segments of the axon. The cytoplasm and the nuclei of the Schwann cells which lie outside theandnbsp;myelinandnbsp;sheath are collectively called theandnbsp;neurilemma (also called neurolemma).<br /Schwann cells are the myelinating cells in the peripheral nervous system (PNS),andnbsp;play important roles in the development, function and regeneration of peripheral nerves. When an axon is dying, the Schwann cells surrounding it aid in its digestion. This leaves an empty channel formed by successive Schwann cells, through which a new axon may grow from a severed end. The number of Schwann cells in peripheral nerve is tightly regulated. Their proliferation in vitro can be stimulated by growth factors including PDGF, FGF, neuregulin and others. The Schwann cells provide a relatively simple, well-defined and accessible mammalian model for the study of a number of developmental questions. It is also of particular clinical importance to understand the biology of Schwann cells, not only in the context of neuropathies and nerve regeneration, but also because the cells or their precursor might be especially well suited as implants to facilitate repair in the CNS.HSC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human spinal nerves. HSC are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial contains andgt;5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HSC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to S-100, GFAP and CD90. HSC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HSC are guaranteed to further culture in the conditions provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

Meningeal cells surrounding the brain participate actively in the normal development of the central nervous system. For example, they play important roles in both stabilizing the extracellular matrix of the pial surface and by organizing the radial glial scaffold and the lamination of the cerebellar cortex. Selective pharmacological destruction of the meningeal cells during a critical ontogenetic period leads to specific malformation of both the cerbella cortex and dentate gyrus. Grafts of meningeal cells, which derived form meninges overlying the cerebral cortex, in adult rat spinal cord lesion promote axonal regrowth. In vitro study shows that meningeal cell chemotactically orient the migration of immature neurons.HMC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human leptomeningi. HMC are cryopreserved at primary culture and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HMC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to fibronectin and negative to GFAP, alpha-smooth muscle actin and Thy 1.1. HMC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HMC are guaranteed to further expand for 5 population doublings at the condition provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

The urothelial cells, the cells lining the surface of the urinary bladder, are comprised of a unique cell type with high plasticity and a variety of cell functions. They are the first line of bladder defense and serve as an interface between pathogens that is equipped with several defense mechanisms to prevent adherence of pathogens and maintain impermeability to urinary solutes. The urothelial cells express both estrogen receptor-alpha and beta, epidermal growth factor receptor and fibroblast growth factor receptor, these receptors play a major role on urothelial cell response to injury and infection. They also release a number of cytokines and other immune system mediators and this newly recognized immunoregulatory potential of the urothelial cell warrants further investigation through the application of two recent developments: 1) the ability to culture normal urothelial cells in the laboratory and 2) the understanding of how immunoregulatory communications are generated for the biological functions of urothelial cells through signal transduction pathways.HUC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from the human bladder. HUC are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HUC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to cytokeratin-18, -19 and vimentin. HUC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HUC are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings in the condition provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.
