Mouse Heart Microvascular Endothelial cells (mHtMECs) are isolated from hearts of 3-week old male C57BL/6 mice and GFP expressing mHtMECs-GFP were selected from puromycin resistant cells after transfected with lentiviral expressing GFP. Cells are shipped in a frozen vial (provided @ passage 3, with 5 x 105 cells/vial). mHtMECs-GFP are cultured with specially formulated Endothelial Growth Medium. Since the cells have limited proliferation capacity (cells may be expanded for a maximum of 2-3 passages) in vitro, long term culture of mHtMECs is not recommended, even cultured following the detailed protocol described below.
ABI-TC4183
Mouse Heart Microvascular Endothelial Cells (mHtMVECs) were initially isolated from mouse cardiac ventricle tissues of 3-week old C57/Black6 mice and SV40-GFP-mHtMVECs were selected from mHtMVECs infected with SV40 and GFP expressing lentiviruses with puromycin. Endothelial Growth Medium is recommended for the expansion of Sv40-GFP-mHtMVECs. And we warranty a minimum of 30 passages of the cells if cultured following the detailed protocol described below.

The endothelial cells modulate vascular tone by release of several endothelium-derived contracting and relaxing factors, by regulation and degradation of vasoactive peptides, and by enzymes located on the endothelial surface. These functions vary within different spaces, within blood vessels of different organs, and between the macro- and microvasculations. Cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (CMEC) exert physiological and pathophysiological effects on the function of cardiac myocytes. They release cardioactive substances including nitric oxide, endothelin-1, prostanoids, adenylpurines, natriuretic peptides, and other agents, that modify and regulate cardiac myocyte function. Such effects of endothelial cells have been demonstrated both in vivo and in vitro. CMEC also possess enzymatic activities, in particular ACE/kininase activity, which can alter local levels of angiotensin II and bradykinin in the heart. HCMEC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human heart tissue. HCMEC are cryopreserved after purification and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HCMEC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (P-CAM) and by uptake of DiI-Ac-LDL. HCMEC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HCMEC are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings at the conditions provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

Endothelial cells lining the microvasculature are known to play a critical "gatekeeper" role in the inflammatory process through their ability to recruit circulating immune cells into tissues and foci of inflammation. Studies show that intestinal microvascular endothelial cells exhibit a strong immune response to LPS challenge and play a critical regulatory role in gut inflammation. Pharmacological inhibition of NOS in activated intestinal microvascular endothelial cells resulted in a significant increase in leukocytes binding. Gene expression profile study reveals that intestinal endothelial cells express biotinidase, which is involved in biotin recycling. The in vitro culture of these cells enabled scientists to perform systematic analyses of the cytokine profiles with regard to mRNA expression and protein secretion, and to compare such data with cytokine profiles concomitantly displayed by other endothelial cells.HCoMEC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human colonic tissue. HCoMEC are cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HCoMEC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (P-CAM) and by uptake of DiI-Ac-LDL. HCoMEC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HCoMEC are guaranteed to further culture in the conditions provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

Blood vessels of the skin are composed of a number of cellular and non-cellular elements. The predominant cell type in all skin blood vessels is the endothelial cell. Endothelial cells form the interface between intravascular and extravascular compartments and serve as a selective barrier for the diffusion of cells and macromolecules between these two compartments. The endothelial cells lining blood vessels of the skin share features of endothelial cells elsewhere in the body, but they also exhibit several skin specific characteristics. They are active participants in a variety of physiological processes. These include wound healing, control of hemostasis, temperature regulation, and the modulation of inflammation/leukocyte trafficking. The structure and function of endothelial cells are differentially regulated in space and time. Endothelial cell proliferation, quiescence, apoptosis, and senescence are the four principal cytologic states that set the cutaneous microvascular in a dynamic balance between maintenance and remodeling.HDMEC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human dermal tissue. HDMEC are cryopreserved on passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HDMEC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (P-CAM) and by uptake of DiI-Ac-LDL. HDMEC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HDMEC are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings in the conditions provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.
