STJ97090
GAPDH is a protein encoded by the GAPDH gene which is approximately 36 kDa. GAPDH is localised to the cytoplasm and nucleus. It is involved in pathways such as glucose metabolism, respiratory electron transport, carbon metabolism and HIF-1 signalling pathway. GAPDH is a member of the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase protein family. It catalyzes an important energy-yielding step in carbohydrate metabolism and modulates the organization and assembly of the cytoskeleton and participates in nuclear events including transcription, RNA transport, DNA replication and apoptosis. GAPDH is expressed in the blood, eye, intestine, kidney and liver. Mutations in the GAPDH gene result in Hypermature Cataract and Papillary Hidradenoma. STJ97090 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using specific immunogen. The antibody detects endogenous GAPDH protein.
