Fibroblasts are mesenchymal cells derived from the embryonic mesoderm. They have been extensively used for a wide range of cellular and molecular studies. This is mainly because they are one of the easiest types of cells to grow in culture, and their durability makes them amenable to a wide variety of manipulations ranging from studies employing gene transfection to microinjection. There is good evidence that fibroblasts in different parts of the body are intrinsically different. Fibroblasts within tissues are exposed to a dynamic mechnical environment, which influences the structure integrity of both healthy and healing soft tissue. Fibroblasts secrete a nonrigid extracellular matrix that is rich in type I and/or type III collagen. Cultured prostate fibroblasts synthesize FGF-like growth factor that stimulate their growth and is believed to be important in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia.HPrF from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human prostate tissue. HPrF are cryopreserved at primary culture and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HPrF are characterized by their spindle morphology and immunofluorescent method with antibody to fibronectin. HPrF are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HPrF are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings at the condition provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

The most abundant cell type in lung interstitium is fibroblasts. They resemble ordinary fibroblasts but have some distinguishing features, for example, they have long branching processes and gap junctions. Their principle function is production of type III collagen, elastin, and proteoglycans of the extracellular matrix of the alveolar septa. Pulmonary fibroblasts (PF) play an important role in the repair and remodeling processes following injury. The controlled accumulation of fibroblasts to sites of inflammation is crucial to effective tissue repair after injury. Either inadequate or excessive accumulation of fibroblasts could result in abnormal tissue function. For example, the excess proliferation of fibroblasts contributes to the adventitial thickening observed during the development of hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension. HPF from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human lung tissue. HPF are cryopreserved at primary culture and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HPF are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibody to fibronectin. HPF are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HPF are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings at the condition provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

They secrete a non-rigid extracellular matrix that is rich in type I and/or type III collagen. There is good evidence that fibroblasts in different parts of the body are intrinsically different and display different regulatory functions on surrounding cells. For example, splenic fibroblasts have been shown to regulate the development of NK cells from blood progenitors through an expression of bioactive IL-15. HSF from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human spleen tissue. HSF are cryopreserved at primary culture and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HSF are characterized by their spindle morphology and immunofluorescent method with antibody to fibronectin. HSF are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
