Rat Primary Mammary Fibroblasts from Gentaur are isolated from tissue of adult Sprague-Dawley Rats. Rat Primary Mammary Fibroblasts are grown in T75 tissue culture flasks pre-coated with gelatin-based solution for 0.5 hour and incubated in Gentaur's Cell Culture Medium for 3-7 days. Cultures are then expanded. Prior to shipping, cells are detached from flasks and immediately cryo-preserved in vials. Each vial contains at least 1x10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen.Cells are negative for bacteria, yeast, fungi, and mycoplasma. Rat Primary Mammary Fibroblasts are tested for expression of marker using the antibody of anti-FSP1/S100A4 by immunofluorescence staining and can be expanded by 2-4 passages at a split ratio of 1:2 under the cell culture conditions specified by Gentaur. Repeated freezing and thawing of cells is not recommended.Standard biochemical procedures performed with fibroblast cultures include the assays of cell to cell interaction, PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescent staining, immunofluorescent flow cytometry or generating cell derivatives for desired research applications.

Fibroblasts are the most common types of mammary stromal cells. Mammary stromal cells differentiate into fibroblasts, adipocytes or vascular structures in a hormone- and substatum-dependent manner, and may explain the dramatic changes in stromal composition during both normal mammary gland development and tumorigenesis. The interaction between stromal cells and tumor cells is known to play a major role in cancer growth and progression. The Mammary stromal fibroblasts express and produce cytokines such as SF witch plays roles in mammary cancer. HMF from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human mammary tissue. HMF are cryopreserved at primary culture and delivered frozen. Each vial contains 5×10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HMF are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to fibronectin, CD90 and vimentin. HMF are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HMF are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings at the conditions provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.

Gastric fibroblasts (GF), which are located in the stomach, are mesenchymal cells derived from the embryonic mesoderm. Fibroblasts secrete a non-rigid extracellular matrix that is both rich in type I and/or type III collagen. They are responsible for much of the synthesis of extracellular matrix in connective tissues and play a central role in wound healing. Studies in vitro and in vivo show that GF can regulate epithelial regeneration by influencing epithelial cell proliferation and differentiation. In addition to their role in wound healing, human GF (HGF) have been shown to be key contributors in the development and progression of gastric carcinoma. HGF are a useful model for examining the underlying mechanisms that cause gastric carcinoma and may provide novel insights for developing new cancer drug therapies.

Human Kidney Fibroblasts are isolated from the human adult healthy renal tissue. HKF-a are cryopreserved after passage one culture and delivered frozen. HKF-a are guaranteed to further expand for 15 population doublings under the conditions provided by in the technical sheet. As an excretory organ in the urinary system, the kidney greatly influences an individual’s well being by preserving homeostasis through regulating electrolytes, pH, and blood pressure among other control mechanisms. Comprising the majority of interstitial cells in the kidney, renal fibroblasts are responsible for the synthesis of collagen I of the extracellular matrix. Also, renal cortical fibroblasts synthesize erythropoietin, an important glycoprotein hormone that controls the production of red blood cells and renal medullary fibroblasts produce prostaglandins, a class of autocrine or paracrine hormones, which help maintain water and electrolyte homeostasis. Renal interstitial fibrosis, a disorder that may escalate to chronic kidney disease, is often correlated with excessive deposition of extracellular matrix by renal fibroblasts, the regulation of which process is under intensive research.
