Human Chorionic Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hCMesenchymal Stem Cells) are derived from extraembryonic mesoderm and are isolated from fresh chorion following mechanical and enzymatic removal of the trophoblastic layer. They adhere and proliferate well in cell culture and retain their stem cell characteristics beyond passage 10. Differentiation of hCMesenchymal Stem Cells to all three germ layers, ectoderm (neural), mesoderm (skeletal muscle, cardiomyocytic and endothelial) and endoderm (pancreatic) has been reported. The embryonic stemcell marker SSEA-4 has been identified on hCMesenchymal Stem Cells as well as CD349 and CD140b.

Multipotent mesenchymal stramal cells, also known as mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are well-characterized population of adult stem cells. They have the potential to develop into mature cells that produce fat, cartilage, bone, tendons, and muscle. These properties in combination with their developmental plasticity have generated tremendous interest in the potential use of mesenchymal stem cells to replace damaged tissues. MSCs can differentiate into chondrocytes or osteoblasts. MSC has the capability for renewal and differentiation into various lineages of mesenchymal tissues. MSC derived from fetal membrane such as amnion and chorion express CD271, possess characteristics of cardiomyocytes, and various antiagiogenic and anti-inflammatory proteins. HCMSC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human chorionic membrane. HCMSC are cryopreserved at passage one culture and delivered frozen. Each vial contains andgt;5 x 10^5 cells in 1 ml volume. HCMSC are characterized by immunofluorescent method with antibodies to CD73, CD90, CD105 and lipid staining after differentiation. HCMSC are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HCMSC are guaranteed to further culture at the conditions provided by Gentaur Research Laboratories.
