GFP-Mouse Pulmonary Microvascular Endothelial Cells

Mouse Liver Microvascular Endothelial cells (mLivMECs) are isolated from livers of 3-week old male C57BL/6 mice and GFP expressing mLivMECs-GFP were selected from puromycin resistant cells after transfected with lentiviral expressing GFP. Cells are shipped in a frozen vial (provided @ passage 3, with 5 x 105cells/vial). mLivMECs-GFP are cultured with specially formulated Endothelial Growth Medium. Since the cells have limited proliferation capacity (cells may be expanded for a maximum of 2-3 passages) in vitro, long term culture of mLivMECs is not recommended, even cultured following the detailed protocol described below).

Microvascular endothelial cells line blood vessels and contribute to many biological processes such as angiogenesis, coagulation, trafficking of lymphocytes, and the inflammatory response. Microvascular endothelial cells are diverse and have specific cellular characteristics and functions depending on the organ/tissue in which they are found. Adipose tissue is unique because it has the capacity to continually grow throughout adult life. It thus has a high occurrence of angiogenesis in order to provide the extensive vascularization require for adipose tissue. Studies have shown that angiogenesis precedes adipogenesis, implying that microvascular endothelial cells influence the proliferation of preadipocytes. Microvascular endothelial cell growth is at the same time stimulated by adipocyte secreted VEGG, suggesting a complex paracrine relationships between microvascular endothelial cells and preadipocytes during tissue development.HAMEC from Gentaur Research Laboratories are isolated from human adipose tissue. Human Adrenal Microvascular Endothelial Cells

The adrenal gland plays an essential role in regulating homeostasis in the body through the secretion of corticosteroid and androgen hormones. The secreted steroids arise from three zones that form the adrenal gland: the zona glomerulosa, zona fasciculate, and zona reticularis. Microvascular endothelial cells line the blood vessels and contribute to many biological processes such as hemostasis, coagulation, trafficking of lymphocytes, and the inflammatory response. Microvascular endothelial cells (MEC) are of importance in the adrenal gland for their regulatory function on the secretion of adrenal hormones. Studies have shown that factors secreted from HAdMEC, such as endothelin-1, nitric oxide, adrenomedullin and PAMP affect aldosterone secretion. HAdMEC differ from MECs from different organs in function and phenotype. For example, compared to brain MEC and liver MEC, adrenal MEC are highly resistant to glucocorticoid-induced cytotoxicity showing that MECs are specialized to the tissues they belong to.
