STJ92129
CD44 is a protein encoded by the CD44 gene which is approximately 81,5 kDa. CD44 is localised to the cell membrane. It is involved in glycosaminoglycan metabolism, ECM-receptor interaction and apoptotic pathways. It is a receptor for hyaluronic acid and can also interact with other ligands, such as osteopontin, collagens, and matrix metalloproteinases. It participates in a wide variety of cellular functions including lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, hematopoiesis, and tumor metastasis. CD44 isoform 10 is expressed in the cells of the epithelium and highly expressed in carcinomas. Mutations in the CD44 gene may result in lichen sclerosis and Hodgkin’s lymphoma. STJ92129 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of CD44 protein.
