Human colon adenocarcinoma. Derived from a grade III adenocarcinoma of the colon in a 53 year old female. CEA is produced and electron microscopy reveals the presence of brush borders around colonies in vitro.
Human Caucasian rectum adenocarcinoma. Established from a grade II mucous producing and grade III solid rectal adenocarcinoma from a 66 year old Caucasian female. The cells form brush borders and produce CEA.
The SW 1990 line was established in 1978 from a spleen metastasis of a grade II pancreatic adenocarcinoma deriving from the exocrine pancreas. The cells have a reported plating efficiency of 29%.
